![]() I do help out with our yearbook here and there (I do teach photography a the high school though), but you are correct, it should be done by the kids.ĭoes the yearbook have ads in it? If it does, you should at least get a half-page ad for that many photos, if not a full page since they need them "yesterday." They pay to print the yearbook, they usually pay some wire service for a "year in review" package for the back of the book, they have some money. They always offer a photo credit and they offer ads in the book as well, I decided to just say no and stay out of it.Ĭoeur d'Alene | ID | USA | Posted: 8:49 PM on 03.25.09 The other problem for me is that the yearbook is a class for the students, they are getting credit for taking the class - I do not write term papers for history students! My problem is that they really do expect them for free. I have offered to help the student photographers (free of charge) with their camera, settings, tips, etc. Many years back I did help with a few (4 or 5), then they asked for more and more - I declined. > This happens to me all the time, almost the exact same version (even the rude attitude). Of course she told me I would get 'photo credit' (sweeet). I know this is kind of long, but I'm curious if anyone else gets this request. ![]() When I told her that some of the sports were still being played and was it possible for her to get a school photographer out there she said 'well, why don't you tell (kid's name) because he won't listen to me'. When I asked when she needed them (this week I'm busy and would not be able to get to them) she said 'well, yesterday'. When I asked her how many she needed she said 'about 10 or so, and make them of the main players, you know who they are'. She said 'it's either your photos or the parents pictures and theirs aren't very good'. I spoke with the yearbook advisor and she came across as very rude and demanding. My take is that a yearbook is supposed to be for the kids, by the kids. I'm kind of torn between letting them have some photos as a goodwill gesture vs saying no. Meaning they want me to provide sports photos for their yearbook. In the past week I have gotten multiple requests from the high school for yearbook photos. I also shoot for a few booster clubs who pay me to provide images for their websites, media guides, etc. Georgetown | Tx | USA | Posted: 8:37 PM on 03.25.09 Members log in here with your user name and password to access the your admin page and other special features.
